Seattle based artist Jo Reid went from a career in technology to opening up her own pottery studio right here in Phinney Ridge. Jo had the amazing opportunity to study alongside a Japanese Pottery Sensei in the 80's, his influence is reflected in many of her creations today. Her unique designs on the pottery come from combining oil paints with a glaze, and wax line drawings, firing them among newspaper and apple wood shavings creating an unusual crackle on her Raku pottery.

Taking her love of gardening and Ikebana inspired designs into consideration when shaping the pottery, Jo has crafted vases that are unique and functional allowing the vases to showcase blooms collected from her garden.
